Macará came from behind to draw 1-1 with Universidad Católica del Ecuador in Serie A. Daniel Clavijo gave the visitors the lead in the 52nd minute, and Agustin Campana equalised for the home side in the 71st.
Clavijo finished from Mauro Díaz's assist to put Universidad Católica ahead shortly after the restart. Macará levelled when Agustin Campana scored from Juan Espinoza's assist, and the visitors could not find a winner despite creating two big chances late on.
Universidad Católica controlled possession with 65% and had 17 shots to Macará's 12, yet Macará hit the target five times to their four. Both goalkeepers were kept busy, with Macará's making three saves and Universidad Católica's making four.
