Independiente del Valle let a two-goal lead slip as Universidad Católica del Ecuador came back to earn a 2-2 draw in Serie A. Ronald Briones and Juan Angulo put the home side 2-0 up within five second-half minutes, but the visitors hit back twice in quick succession.
Briones opened the scoring in the 51st minute and Angulo doubled the lead five minutes later. Universidad Católica pulled one back through Mauricio Alonso in the 61st minute, and Azarías Londoño equalised a minute later, with Mauro Díaz assisting both goals.
The away side finished with more of the ball and more attempts, posting 51% possession and 18 shots to Independiente's 14. Independiente's goalkeeper made five saves to preserve a point, and both teams scored from their one big chance, though Universidad Católica also missed a big chance.
