Independiente del Valle beat Macará 3-1 in Serie A thanks to a devastating opening spell. They led 3-0 inside 15 minutes through a Djorkaeff Reasco double and a Ronald Briones goal, and although Macará pulled one back, the result was never seriously in doubt.
Reasco opened the scoring in the eighth minute and made it 2-0 two minutes later, with Briones providing the assist on both. Briones then scored himself in the 15th minute, assisted by Matías Perello. Andy Velasco gave Macará hope with a goal in the 75th minute, but no further chances were converted.
The home side edged possession at 55% and had five shots on target to Macará's three, though total attempts were level at seven each. Reasco's brace and Briones' goal plus two assists were the clear difference, as Independiente del Valle capitalised on their early chances while Macará could only manage a late reply.
