NK Varaždin won 4-1 at NK Slaven Belupo in the 1. HNL, taking control with three first-half goals. Ivan Canjuga scored twice, with Luka Mamić and Aleksa Latković also on target as the visitors led 3-0 at the break.
Canjuga opened the scoring in the 26th minute from Gregor Sikošek's pass, and Mamić doubled the lead two minutes later, again assisted by Sikošek. Latković made it 3-0 in the 44th minute, and although Ilija Nestorovski pulled one back for Slaven Belupo in the 71st, Canjuga restored the three-goal cushion in the 78th.
Varaždin were the more threatening side throughout, racking up 24 shots to Slaven Belupo's 12 and an expected goals total of 2.50 against 0.83, even though the home side had 57% possession. The two bookings, for Luka Škaričić and Dominik Kovačić, did little to disrupt the visitors' control, and the win was fully deserved on the balance of chances.
