Macará came from behind to beat Mushuc Runa 2-1 in Serie A, recovering from an early deficit with two goals before half-time and then a second-half winner. Despite having slightly less possession at 48%, they made their chances count with five shots on target to Mushuc Runa's two.
Mushuc Runa struck first through Tomson Minda in the 12th minute, but Macará responded quickly when Martín Tello levelled four minutes later. The home side took the lead just after the hour mark when Franco Posse found the net in the 68th minute, and they held on despite a flurry of late yellow cards.
The box score shows Macará were more clinical, registering five shots on target from ten attempts, while Mushuc Runa managed only two. Goalkeeper saves were 3-1 in Macará's favour, and the visitors missed a big chance, which proved costly.
