Mushuc Runa edged Orense SC 2-1 thanks to a brace from Ronie Carrillo. The forward struck in the ninth minute and again just after half-time to give his side the win, despite Orense levelling before the break.
Carrillo opened the scoring early, heading home from José Hernández’s cross. Orense responded just before the interval when Michael Bermúdez equalised with an unassisted effort. But Mushuc Runa regained the lead four minutes into the second half, Carrillo converting Miguel Perea’s delivery to make it 2-1.
Mushuc Runa dominated the shot count 18-8 and had seven shots on target to Orense’s two, though possession was evenly split at 50% each. Carrillo’s two goals from four big chances proved decisive, while Orense goalkeeper made five saves to keep the scoreline respectable.
