Macará secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Deportivo Cuenca in Serie A, thanks to a Franco Posse brace and a late goal from Jordan Josue Mohor Nazareno. The home side struck inside the first minute and then took full advantage of Cuenca being reduced to ten men early in the second half.
Franco Posse opened the scoring in the very first minute, converting Luis Ayala's assist to make it 1-0. Cuenca struggled to respond and their task became harder when Gian Nardelli received a second yellow card in the 52nd minute. Posse doubled the lead in the 79th minute from Matías Miranda's pass, and Miranda turned provider again three minutes later for Jordan Josue Mohor Nazareno to seal the 3-0 win.
Despite having less possession (47%) and fewer accurate passes (335 to 396), Macará created four big chances to Cuenca's none and registered six shots on target to their opponent's two. The home side's clinical finishing and dominance in key attacking areas decided the contest long before the final whistle.
