Nutivaara made it 0-1 in the first period, with Sakke Hämäläinen assisting. The second period was scoreless, and Kiekko-Espoo pulled level at 44 when Carter King scored, assisted by Lukas Svejkovsky. Karvinen answered at 58, with Brett Stapley on the assist, to make it 1-2 and settle the game in regulation.
Karvinen’s late goal stood as the difference, while Kiekko-Espoo’s only marker came from Carter King at 44. Lahti reclaimed the lead after that equalizer and closed out the two points without needing overtime.
