El Paso Locomotive FC claimed a comfortable 2-0 win over Sporting Jax in the USL Championship, controlling the game from start to finish. The home side dominated possession and created far more chances, though Sporting Jax’s goalkeeper kept them in it for long spells.
Amando Moreno opened the scoring in the 15th minute with a strike that gave El Paso an early lead. The scoreline stayed at 1-0 until the 83rd minute, when Rubio Rubin tapped in after a neat assist from Eric Calvillo to seal the win. The match saw five yellow cards, with Ryan Edwards and Tony Alfaro both booked inside the first six minutes.
El Paso had 63% possession, fired 17 shots with nine on target, and forced seven saves from the Sporting Jax keeper. Despite Sporting Jax having two big chances, they failed to convert, while El Paso scored from their one big chance. It was a thoroughly deserved victory for the home side.
