Deportivo Riestra and Vélez Sarsfield shared the points in a 1-1 Superliga draw. Riestra went ahead through Tomás Gonzalez, but Vélez hit back with a Facundo Miño equaliser. A red card was shown before the match, while bookings followed for Miño, Lucas Robertone and Nicolás Benegas.
Gonzalez broke the deadlock in the 54th minute, assisted by Mariano Bracamonte. Vélez, dominant on the ball, kept pushing and finally levelled when Miño scored in the 76th minute. Riestra had taken the lead against the run of play, but Vélez’s pressure told in the end.
Vélez owned the ball with 76% possession and had 13 shots to Riestra’s seven, yet Riestra’s goalkeeper made five saves to preserve their point. Expected goals were close – 0.63 for Riestra to 0.55 for Vélez – and with Riestra converting one big chance and Vélez missing one, a draw was a fair outcome.
