Alibek Aliev scored twice as FC Universitatea Cluj beat UTA Arad 2-1 in Liga I. The home side led 2-0 before Andrei Dorobantu's 85th-minute reply set up a tense finish, and Andrei Gheorghita was shown a red card in the 90th.
Aliev broke the deadlock in the 45th minute, finishing a chance created by Adams Friday, and added a second from open play on 74 minutes. UTA Arad pushed forward after that and Dorobantu pulled one back with five minutes left, but Universitatea Cluj held on for the points.
The stats show UTA Arad had more total shots, 20 to 13, and more big chances, six to three, but they missed five of those six. Universitatea Cluj were more clinical, scoring two of their three big chances, which proved the difference.
