Omiya pulled one back through Carlinhos Junior on 74 minutes, and after Shonan's Kosuke Onose was shown a red card in the 83rd minute, Omiya grabbed the equaliser in the 90th minute.
The result hinged on Omiya's late momentum after the sending-off. They had conceded twice inside the opening 37 minutes but finished strongly, while Shonan will rue the red card that left them to defend a slender lead with 10 men. The fightback itself was the defining story.
