Portland Timbers II won 3-0 away to North Texas SC, taking their chances clinically. Daniel Cervantes opened the scoring in the 32nd minute and second-half goals from Eric Izoita and Maximilian Kissel sealed the win.
Cervantes finished from Henry Mueller's assist to put the visitors ahead, and Izoita doubled the lead in the 57th minute. Kissel added a third in the 90th minute after Izoita turned provider. The match also saw four bookings, including one for scorer Cervantes.
The visitors were far more dangerous in front of goal, racking up 22 shots to North Texas's nine and an expected-goals total of 1.96. North Texas enjoyed 57% possession and completed 434 passes, but they created no big chances and managed just four shots on target.
