LA Galaxy II beat North Texas SC 6-1 in MLS Next Pro, turning a commanding early lead into a rout. The hosts were clinical where it mattered, converting all four of their big chances into goals.
Julian Placias opened the scoring after 11 minutes, Eric Preston doubled the lead on 15 and Placias struck again on 40 to make it 3-0. Nicholas Simmonds gave North Texas brief hope at 51, but Preston restored the three-goal cushion a minute later. A Villatoro added a fifth on 86 and Luis Müller completed the scoring in the 90th.
Preston was the standout, scoring twice and setting up two more. North Texas had more of the ball with 55% possession and 440 accurate passes to LA's 332, yet they created only one big chance while LA created four and scored them all.
