Maitland FC advanced to the NPL Northern NSW final with a 2-1 win over Edgeworth Eagles in the semifinal. The hosts were outplayed for long spells but took their chances, with Daniel McFarlane grabbing a late winner.
Braedyn Crowley put Maitland ahead in the 11th minute. Flynn Goodman levelled for Edgeworth in the 65th, but with the game poised at 1-1, McFarlane scored three minutes from time to clinch it.
Edgeworth dominated the statistics, holding 53% possession, winning 17 corners to Maitland's one and recording 25 shots to their opponents' 10. Despite that, Maitland converted three shots on target into two goals, while Edgeworth could only manage one from nine.
