Arthur Fery defeated Flavio Cobolli 6-4, 7-6 (7-5), 6-0 at Wimbledon, winning through a dominant all-court performance. Fery broke Cobolli's serve four times from four opportunities, while saving three of the four break points he faced on his own delivery.
The first set was decided by a single break in the 10th game, when Fery converted his only chance to take it 6-4. Cobolli struck first in the second set, breaking in game 1, but Fery immediately broke back in game 4 and then edged the tiebreak to move two sets up. The third set was one-sided: Fery broke Cobolli in games 1, 3 and 5 to wrap up a bagel set.
Fery's efficiency on return was the key – he won 37 of 69 return points overall (54%) and did not face a break point on his serve in the third set, where he lost only six service points. Despite Cobolli hitting six aces to Fery's five, the Italian could not hold serve in the final set.
