Linda Nosková defeated Marta Kostyuk 6-4, 6-4 at Wimbledon, sealing the match with a break in the final game of each set. The Czech converted two of her three break points and held firm despite facing a break point herself, which Kostyuk converted in the second set.
The first set stayed on serve until the 10th game, where Nosková broke Kostyuk to take it 6-4, backed by a dominant 94% first-serve points won. In the second set, Nosková broke for a 3-1 lead only for Kostyuk to break back immediately in game five. Nosková recovered and broke again in the 10th game to close out the match.
The key difference was Nosková's improved first-serve accuracy in the second set, landing 81% compared to Kostyuk's 48%, winning 64% of those points. Though Kostyuk hit five aces to Nosková's one, Nosková's steadiness on serve and clutch breaks proved decisive.
