Crown Legacy FC edged out Chicago Fire FC II 3-2 in an entertaining MLS Next Pro contest. Two goals inside the final 12 minutes of the first half gave the home side a lead they never relinquished, despite a late Chicago rally.
Nathan Richmond opened the scoring in the 33rd minute, assisted by Nimfasha Berchimas. Robert Turdean levelled for Chicago eight minutes later, but Michael Ayovi restored Crown Legacy's lead right on the stroke of half-time. Wyatt Holt made it 3-1 in the 78th minute, and Jason Shokalook pulled one back for Chicago four minutes later, assisted by James Field.
Chicago had the edge in possession (51%) and created more big chances (five to four), but Crown Legacy were more clinical, scoring three of their big chances compared to Chicago's two. Shokalook was booked in first-half stoppage time, and Andrew Johnson saw yellow in the 53rd minute.
