Union Omaha SC beat Charlotte Independence 2-0 in USL League One, with Marlon Vargas and Sergio Ors scoring the goals. Vargas made it 1-0 in the 44th minute, and Ors sealed the win in the 90th. The match also saw Souaibou Marou sent off in the 22nd minute.
Vargas opened the scoring from Allen Gavilanes' assist, putting Union Omaha ahead going into half-time. Charlotte could not find an equaliser in the second half, and Ors finished from Laurence Thomas Wootton's pass in the final minute to make it 2-0.
The underlying numbers backed the home side: Union Omaha had 55% possession, 13 total shots, five big chances and nine corners. Charlotte had eight shots and one big chance. Union Omaha scored twice from their four shots on target.
