Charlotte Independence beat Portland Hearts of Pine 3-2 in USL League One, deciding it with two Stefano Pinho goals in the 90th minute. Portland had turned the game around by taking a 2-1 lead, but Pinho's late double made the difference.
Jon Bakero put Charlotte ahead in the 20th minute with Clay Dimick assisting. Matteo Kidd equalised for Portland in the 59th minute, and Michel Poon-Angeron made it 1-2 in the 65th. Stefano Pinho then levelled in the 90th minute from Javen Romero's assist, and Reudd Manin set up Pinho's winner in the same minute.
Charlotte had 52% possession and led the shot count 7-4, with four shots on target to Portland's one. Portland's goalkeeper made three saves, but Stefano Pinho's brace secured a result that had looked to be slipping away.
