Aucas beat Libertad 1-0 in Serie A, with the only goal arriving late. Ederson Quiñónez struck in the 77th minute to settle a tight contest. Aucas controlled much of the play before finding the breakthrough.
The game was goalless until Quiñónez scored for Aucas. Luis Gustavino was booked in the 32nd minute, Piero Guzmán in the 71st, and Orlin Quinonez in stoppage time. Libertad could not respond after falling behind.
Aucas dominated the ball, finishing with 62% possession and 12 shots to Libertad's nine, and completed 520 accurate passes. Both sides had three shots on target, but Aucas created the two big chances of the match. Libertad had three shots saved by the Aucas goalkeeper as they pushed for an equaliser.
