FK Žalgiris claimed a 2-0 win over Džiugas Telšiai in A Lyga, with Ivan Lytvynenko's strike just before the hour proving decisive. The home side added a second in the 90th minute to make the points safe.
Lytvynenko broke the deadlock in the 59th minute to make it 1-0. Džiugas' task grew harder when Valentino Vermeulen was sent off in the 86th minute, and Žalgiris doubled their lead four minutes later.
Lytvynenko was the only named scorer, providing the opener that opened up a tight contest. With the match settled by a late red card and a stoppage-time goal, Žalgiris' patience in the second half did the job.
