Helmond Sport beat VVV-Venlo 4-2 in the Eerste Divisie after losing a two-goal lead in the second half. Livio Cicero opened the scoring after 17 minutes and Labinot Bajrami made it 2-0 in first-half stoppage time, with Sem Dekkers providing the assist. Venlo then pulled level before Helmond won it late.
Eanna Clancy pulled a goal back two minutes into the second half, assisted by Lars de Blok, and de Blok equalised in the 69th minute. The game turned in the final minutes as Mauro Lenaerts scored twice, in the 85th and 90th minutes, with Tarik Essakkati assisting both goals. Those two late strikes settled a close contest.
The result was harsh on a Venlo side that matched Helmond on shots, 19 each, and had 10 shots on target to Helmond's six. Helmond's goalkeeper made eight saves, while Venlo missed three of their five big chances. Helmond, by contrast, took all three of their big chances, and Lenaerts' late finish proved decisive.
