Anápolis came from behind to thrash Volta Redonda 4-1 away in a Brasileiro Série C clash. After falling behind early, the visitors took control with a quick equaliser and three second-half goals to seal a convincing victory.
Volta Redonda struck first through Lucas Rocha in the 17th minute, but Anápolis hit back within three minutes as Matheus Lagoa levelled the scores. Lagoa struck again in the 75th minute to put the visitors ahead, and Samuel added a third in the 86th minute before an own goal deep into stoppage time rounded off the scoring. Samuel and Volta Redonda's Fernando Viana were both booked.
Matheus Lagoa was the standout performer with a brace, scoring the equaliser and the goal that put Anápolis ahead. The visitors showed ruthless finishing, turning a 1-0 deficit into a 4-1 win without any statistical dominance in the box score.
