The home side led from the 34th minute, when Getúlio found the net to make it 1-0. Volta Redonda could not find an equaliser, and Marco Antônio sealed the result with the second goal two minutes from time.
The standout was Marco Antônio, whose late goal settled the contest after Getúlio had given Inter de Limeira the lead. The only cards arrived late in the game, with Dener booked in the 83rd minute and Bruno Barra in the 90th.
