Vitesse claimed a 3-1 win at Jong FC Utrecht, recovering from a 1-1 half-time scoreline to take control after the break. Naoufal Bannis scored twice, while Emmanuel Owen's equaliser proved only a brief interruption to the visitors' momentum.
Bannis opened the scoring on 30 minutes with Filipe de Carvalho Ferreira providing the assist. Owen levelled on 45 from Tijn den Boggende's pass, but Ayman Sellouf restored Vitesse's lead on 52 after Nathan Markelo set him up. Bannis made it 1-3 on 73 with an assist from Marco Schikora, and Jong FC Utrecht finished with ten men when Noa Dundas was sent off a minute later.
The numbers underlined how much Vitesse dominated: they had 19 shots to 11, seven on target to three, and an expected-goals figure of 2.98 against 0.45. They also created six big chances, scoring from three, while Jong FC Utrecht created none. Bannis's brace was the decisive individual contribution.
