Colo Colo recovered from a first-half equaliser to beat Universidad de Chile 2-1 in the Primera Division. Javier Correa scored the decisive goal early in the second half, having earlier assisted Álvaro Madrid's opener. The visitors took all three points from a tense and closely fought contest.
Álvaro Madrid put Colo Colo ahead in the 29th minute from Javier Correa's assist. Universidad de Chile levelled on the stroke of half-time, Charles Aránguiz scoring in the 45th minute. Correa then restored the lead in the 53rd minute, converting Víctor Felipe Méndez's pass, and Colo Colo held on despite eight bookings.
Correa was the standout performer, contributing a goal and an assist. Colo Colo had only 42% of the ball to Universidad's 58% and completed fewer passes, but they were far more clinical in front of goal, putting five of their 14 shots on target compared to just two of Universidad's 13. The numbers show a side that was outpassed yet took their chances.
