Ñublense beat Unión La Calera 2-1 in Primera Division, thanks to two goals from Sebastián Valencia in the first half. The home side struck twice before the break and held on after the visitors replied.
Valencia opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, finishing a move started by Matías Plaza, and doubled the lead four minutes before the interval with an assist from Manuel Rivera. Unión La Calera set up a tense finish when Christopher Díaz scored from Kevin Méndez's pass in the 77th minute, but Ñublense saw the game out. Daniel Gutiérrez and Brian Nicolás Ferreyra were booked either side of half-time.
The statistics suggest a close game: Unión La Calera had 51% possession, Ñublense had 15 shots to their 10, and both sides recorded four shots on target. The home goalkeeper made three saves, while his counterpart made two. In the end the difference was Valencia's two first-half goals.
