Mateo Saja put Inter Miami ahead in the 18th minute, finishing a Lovens Delinois assist. Toronto FC II hit back 11 minutes later through Reid Fisher, who levelled with an unassisted effort. The game swung decisively in the 58th minute: Delinois turned from provider to scorer, slotting home from Alejandro Flores' pass to restore the lead.
Despite Toronto matching Inter Miami for total shots (9-9), the hosts were more clinical – hitting three on target to Toronto's one. Inter Miami also commanded possession (56%) and committed more fouls (26-14), but the decisive factor was Delinois's goal and an assist, giving him a direct hand in both of his side's goals.
