Los Angeles FC 2 came from behind to beat Tacoma Defiance 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller. Twice they trailed, and they needed a stoppage-time winner from Marius Aiyenero to take the points.
Liam Lambert put Los Angeles FC 2 ahead after 10 minutes, but Mark Bronnik equalised for Tacoma on 25. Tommy Mihalic restored the lead five minutes later, only for Bronnik to strike again in the 53rd minute and Matthew Bell to put Tacoma in front on 68. Aiyenero levelled in the 84th minute and then won it in the 90th.
Aiyenero's late double turned the game, but the numbers suggest Los Angeles FC 2 carried the greater threat overall, with 18 shots to nine and an expected-goals count of 2.44 to 1.74. Tacoma had more of the ball, 55 per cent to 45, yet could not make that control count.
