Southampton recovered from conceding an early goal to beat Millwall 5-1 in the Championship. Mark Sykes gave Millwall the lead in the 15th minute, but Southampton hit back with five unanswered goals to take the game away from the visitors.
Cyle Larin equalised on 25 minutes with Ryan Manning providing the assist, and Finn Azaz put Southampton ahead from Leo Scienza's pass in the 38th. Scienza extended the lead on 55, Larin added his second in the 62nd after Azaz turned provider, and Tom Fellows completed the scoring on 86.
The numbers underlined Southampton's control: they had 21 shots to Millwall's 14, seven on target to five, and created five big chances to the visitors' one. Southampton also shaded possession with 52% and led expected goals 3.21 to 1.09. Millwall's 11 corners were more than Southampton's eight, but they mustered only the one big chance after Sykes' early goal.
