Benfica were held to a 2-2 draw by Académico Viseu FC in the Primeira Liga, despite dominating possession and creating far more chances. The home side led twice but were pegged back on each occasion by the visitors.
Vangelis Pavlidis put Benfica ahead in the 10th minute, converting after Gianluca Prestianni's assist. Académico Viseu levelled through Rúben Pereira on 55 minutes, only for Prestianni to restore Benfica's lead three minutes later. André Clóvis made it 2-2 in the 67th minute, with Robinho providing the assist.
Benfica's dominance was stark in the numbers: they had 28 shots to the visitors' eight and an expected-goals total of 3.05 against 1.18, yet had to settle for a point. The Académico Viseu goalkeeper made eight saves as his side survived a sustained Benfica barrage. The result leaves the home side frustrated, having failed to convert any of their three big chances.
