Skelleftea AIK took it 3-2 over Geneve-Servette in regulation, and they needed all 60 minutes to do it. A goal in the final minute broke a 2-2 tie after the Swiss side had erased a one-goal deficit in the third.
Vincent Praplan put the visitors ahead in the 3rd minute off a Marco Miranda feed, and it stayed that way until late in the opening frame, when Oscar Lindberg tied it at 17 from Jonathan Pudas and Hudson Fasching made it 2-1 two minutes later with Valter Lindberg assisting. The middle period produced nothing on the scoreboard, 0-0, before Simas Ignatavicius, set up by Noha Rod, drew Geneve level at 49.
The turning point was that two-minute window in the first: Skelleftea scored twice between the 17th and 19th minutes and never trailed again. The unattributed 60th-minute goal settled it, with Geneve-Servette having led for only 14 minutes on the night.
