Manchester stretched the lead to 5-3 in the 48th, Sheffield cut it back in the 50th, then equalized in the 60th to force overtime.
The decisive number was Sheffield's 5-2 edge over the final two regulation periods, which turned a 3-0 hole into a 5-5 game. No one scored in overtime, and the shootout went to Sheffield by a 1-0 margin.
