Sekhukhune United beat Durban City FC 2024 1-0 in the Premier Soccer League, with Bright Ndlovu's goal proving decisive. The home side were outplayed for long stretches but defended stubbornly to protect their lead.
Ndlovu scored in the 27th minute after a build-up involving Lehlogonolo Mojela, and Sekhukhune held on from there. Durban City pushed hard after the interval, while Tsepo Matsimbi, Bright Ndlovu and Givemore Khupe were all booked in the second half.
The underlying numbers favoured the visitors: Durban City had 62% possession, eight shots to seven and six corners to two. Yet Sekhukhune registered four shots on target to three, and with both goalkeepers making three saves, Ndlovu's goal stood as the difference despite an expected-goals deficit of 0.24 to 0.67.
