Roberto Piccoli brought Bologna level seven minutes into the second half, converting Juan Miranda's assist at 1-1. Sassuolo restored the lead on 56 minutes through Adžić, before Artem Dovbyk's 90th-minute strike secured the draw.
Bologna dominated the data, with 62% possession, 21 shots to 15 and an expected-goals total of 1.91, yet they still needed a late equaliser. They created six big chances but missed four, while Sassuolo had more attempts on target and looked the sharper side in front of goal.
