San Jose erased a one-goal deficit in the third period, riding a late goal from Igor Chernyshov to a 3-2 regulation win over Columbus. The Sharks' penalty kill held the Blue Jackets scoreless on two power-play opportunities, while the visitors converted once on the man advantage.
Denton Mateychuk opened the scoring for Columbus at 1:01 of the first, but Igor Chernyshov tied it at 18:07 with help from Will Smith. Cole Sillinger restored the Blue Jackets' lead at 32:34 in the second period, making it 2-1. Macklin Celebrini pulled the Sharks even at 41:12, and Chernyshov's second of the night — again assisted by Smith — came at 58:25 to seal the win.
Chernyshov's two goals were the difference, doubling his season total in a single game. The Sharks improved to 3-2-0 on the road with the victory, while Columbus dropped to 4-4-1 at home.
