Rosario Central and Corinthians drew 0-0 in the Libertadores round of 16, a goalless meeting that leaves the tie finely balanced. The home side had far more of the ball and the shooting but could not find a breakthrough, while Corinthians created the game's one clear chance.
Rosario Central controlled the contest, with 57 per cent possession, 16 shots and 12 corners to Corinthians' five shots and none from corners. Only two of their efforts were on target, however, and Corinthians' goalkeeper made two saves; the visitors managed one big chance. Allan's second booking in the 80th minute reduced Corinthians to ten men for the closing stages, but the visitors held on.
The most telling number was the expected-goals column, where both sides sat at 0.43 despite Rosario Central's territorial dominance. In that respect the draw was a fair outcome: the home side did much more of the running, yet neither team did enough in front of goal to settle the tie.
