Querétaro beat Tigres UANL 3-2 in the Apertura, winning a thriller that saw them race into a two-goal lead, get pegged back, and then snatch the points with a 90th-minute goal. Ali Ávila and Mateo Coronel had them in control before Tigres hit back through Rodrigo Aguirre and Juan Brunetta.
Ávila opened the scoring in the 11th minute and Coronel doubled the lead seven minutes later. Aguirre halved the deficit in the 41st minute, and Brunetta levelled on the hour. Querétaro's winner arrived in the 90th minute, with no scorer credited, to make it 3-2.
Tigres dominated possession (65%) and had 25 shots to Querétaro's 15, but the hosts were more clinical, putting six on target to five. Their expected goals of 2.65 dwarfed Querétaro's 1.23, yet the chances were not converted. Brunetta was at the heart of the Tigres fightback with a goal and an assist, but it counted for nothing.
