Pachuca cruised to a convincing 3-0 victory over Pumas UNAM, thanks to a clinical attacking display. Despite enjoying less possession, the visitors were far more efficient in front of goal, taking their chances when they came.
Elias Montiel opened the scoring in the 21st minute, then Salomón Rondón doubled the lead in the 32nd minute with an assist from Oussama Idrissi. Rondón sealed the win with his second goal in the 80th minute, this time set up by Montiel.
Salomón Rondón's brace was the standout performance, as he finished off two of Pachuca's six shots on target. The visitors also had 15 total attempts compared to Pumas' nine, and their expected goals of 1.15 dwarfed the hosts' 0.29, underlining their superior chance creation.
