Oldham Athletic earned a 2-0 win over Port Vale in League Two, thanks to two goals from Calum Kavanagh. The victory was sealed despite Port Vale enjoying the lion's share of possession.
Kavanagh opened the scoring on 60 minutes, finishing from Oliver Norburn's pass. He doubled the lead with a second goal on 75 minutes, this time assisted by Mike Fondop, to put the game beyond Port Vale's reach.
Port Vale dominated the ball with 61% possession and had 12 shots, but only one on target. Oldham had 11 shots, with three on target, and created two big chances; Kavanagh's brace made the difference.
