Los Angeles FC 2 earned a 6-3 win over North Texas SC. The visitors struck twice early and, despite a spirited fightback from the hosts, always looked in control.
Christian Díaz opened the scoring in the 19th minute, and Charlie Kosakoff made it 2-0 three minutes later. Edouard Nys pulled one back for North Texas on 53 minutes, and Nicholas Simmonds levelled in the 90th minute. Tommy Mihalic then restored LAFC 2's lead in the 990th minute, and further goals added to the final tally.
North Texas had more of the ball (62%) and a higher expected goals figure (1.76 to 1.22), but LAFC 2 were the more incisive side, registering 14 shots to the home team's seven. The visitors' ability to take their chances proved decisive.
