Chicago Fire FC II swept aside New York Red Bulls II 3-0, racing into a two-goal lead inside 13 minutes. A brace from Jason Shokalook set the tone, and Dean Boltz added a third just after the interval to seal a comfortable win.
Shokalook opened the scoring in the third minute from David Poreba's assist, then doubled the lead ten minutes later, Christopher Cupps providing the pass. The home side made it 3-0 within a minute of the second half restart, Dean Boltz converting a Damyan Villanueva delivery.
Despite having only 45% possession, Chicago dominated where it mattered: seven shots on target to New York's one, and an expected goals tally of 1.96 against 0.38. Shokalook's early double was the decisive blow, and the visitors never threatened a comeback.
