Vlci Zilina beat HC Presov 5-2 in regulation, and the middle period settled it: three unanswered goals turned a 1-1 game into a 4-1 lead. Presov got the opener and never led again after the first intermission.
Keltie Jeri-Leon put the visitors up 0-1 in the second minute, assisted by Michal Feranec, before Simon Petras tied it at 18 off a Brant Harris feed. Brett Ritchie (25th, Patrik Koys) and Petras again (30th, Tomas Torok) built the cushion, and Ritchie's second at 38 made it 4-1 — the turning point in a period Zilina won 3-0. Gemel Smith cut it to 4-2 at 52, but Zilina's unassisted late marker at 59 closed it out.
Petras and Ritchie each finished with two goals, accounting for four of the five Zilina scores. Presov's two goals came 50 minutes apart, at 2 and 52, and Smith's was the only unassisted one for the visitors.
