MoDo Hockey took a 5-4 win at Almtuna IS, the only goal of the shootout settling a game that finished 4-4 through regulation and a scoreless overtime. The visitors got there by erasing a one-goal deficit inside the final two minutes of the third.
Almtuna opened at 3 minutes, but MoDo answered twice inside the first period, at 11 and 14, to lead 1-2 after 20. A third MoDo goal at 33 pushed it to 1-3 before Almtuna replied at 35 for 2-3 after two, then scored at 43 and 49 to go ahead 4-3 — the turning point came at 58, when MoDo tied it 4-4 and forced the extra period.
The numbers read as a game of runs: MoDo scored three of the first four goals, Almtuna three straight in the middle stretch. Neither side scored in overtime, and MoDo's lone shootout conversion was the difference in a 4-5 final.
