MoDo Hockey took a 3-2 decision over Mora IK in a shootout, the lone conversion in the skills competition separating two sides that couldn't be separated across 60 minutes and overtime. MoDo trailed by two in the middle period and needed a late third-period equalizer to get there.
Karl Umegard opened the scoring for Mora at 13 and struck again at 23, from Marcus Karlstrom, to make it 0-2. Carl Mattsson answered at 27 off a Victor Berglund feed, and after MoDo carried a 1-2 deficit into the third, Oskar Wahlberg tied it at 52 with Milan Sundstrom assisting — the turning point that pushed the game to overtime and then the shootout.
Umegard was the game's most productive skater with both Mora goals, but he had no support on the scoresheet after the 23rd minute. MoDo's third period was the decisive stretch: a 1-0 edge in the frame, a scoreless overtime, and the only shootout goal.
