Spartak Moscow handled MHK Dynamo 5-1 in regulation, and the middle period did the damage. Three unanswered goals in the second turned a one-goal lead into a four-goal cushion, and Dynamo never got back inside it.
Spartak opened the scoring in the 11th minute and carried a 0-1 edge to the first intermission. The second period was the turning point: goals at 25, 32 and 38 minutes pushed it to 0-4 after 40, and Dynamo's response at 43 was answered by another Spartak marker at 54.
The number that frames it: four of Spartak's five goals came before the second intermission, with all three second-period strikes landing inside a 13-minute window. Dynamo were held off the board for 42 minutes and finished with one goal to show for the night.
