Traktor Chelyabinsk defeated Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg 4-3 in overtime. A fast start in the first period gave Traktor the early cushion, and the visitors won it in the extra session after Avtomobilist erased a two-goal deficit in the third.
Boris Katchouk opened the scoring in the first minute, and Mikhail Goryunov-Rolgizer made it 2-0 in the seventh. Anatolii Golyshev cut the lead in the 22nd minute, but Grigori Dronov’s goal in the 40th restored Traktor’s two-goal edge. Daniel Sprong trimmed the margin in the 49th, Golyshev tied it at 3-3 in the 55th, and Traktor’s winner came in the 62nd.
Golyshev’s two goals kept Avtomobilist in the game, with Alexander Sharov assisting both in the third-period comeback. Dronov had a goal and an assist for Traktor, whose early lead and overtime finish proved decisive.
