Metz and Stade Lavallois shared the points after a 1-1 draw in Ligue 2. Laval took the lead through Julien Maggiotti early in the second half, but Metz hit back with Pape Moussa Fall's equaliser. The visitors then had Idris Mohamed sent off late on, yet held on for the draw.
The opener arrived four minutes after the break when Maggiotti put Laval ahead. Metz responded on 78 minutes as Fall converted from Teji Savanier's pass. Mohamed's second yellow card five minutes later meant Laval finished with ten men, but the away side protected the point.
Metz finished with 17 total shots to Laval's 11 and seven on target to three, yet needed until the 78th minute to score. The Laval goalkeeper made six saves to keep his side in front for much of the match. Despite having less of the ball, Metz carried the greater attacking threat without finding a winner.
