Club Leones Del Norte earned a 2-0 Serie A win at Manta FC, with Emiliano Griffa's early goal and Ronny Borja's late strike sealing the result. Leones were the sharper side in front of goal despite having less of the ball, scoring twice from four shots on target.
Griffa put the visitors ahead in the 17th minute, converting after Segundo Portocarrero's assist. Portocarrero was booked three minutes later, but Manta could not find an equaliser. Borja made the points safe in the 90th minute, finishing from Cristhian Solano's pass.
Manta controlled the game with 54% possession and 12 shots, yet only two of those attempts were on target. Leones had four of their eight shots on target, and their goalkeeper made three saves to help keep a clean sheet.
